Writing the Thing is Writing the thing

researching the perfect opening is not writing the thing

organizing your notes again is not writing the thing

developing your writing “system” is not writing the thing

staring at a blank page is not writing the thing

buying another writing app is not writing the thing

reading threads about writing habits is not writing the thing

creating a new folder structure is not writing the thing

waiting until you can articulate better is not writing the thing

telling people about what you'll write is not writing the thing

saving that writing prompt "for later" is not writing the thing

waiting for inspiration to strike is not writing the thing

convincing yourself it's been said before is not writing the thing

convincing yourself you’re not an expert is not writing the thing

waiting until you have “more time” is not writing the thing

waiting until you’re a better writer is not writing the thing

planning writing is not writing the thing

reading another book on writing is not writing the thing

designing your website is not writing the thing

setting a writing goal is not writing the thing

writing tomorrow is not writing the thing

advising others on writing is not writing the thing

writing badly is writing the thing

writing scared is writing the thing

writing the sentences you'll probably delete, or cringe looking at, is writing the thing

writing when you don't know where it's going is writing the thing

writing because it clarifies your thinking is writing the thing

writing because you feel you have something to say is writing the thing

writing knowing it's messy is writing the thing

writing when only you(or that one friend) will read it is writing the thing

writing tired is writing the thing

writing anyway is writing the thing

writing not for anybody else but yourself is writing the thing
